Where in the World Are We?

We are in Brusseltown, Australia.

BUSSELTON, AUSTRALIA
Gateway to Geographe Bay and the Margaret River Region

Bordering the Indian Ocean, Geographe Bay’s Busselton enjoys a Mediterranean-style climate. The region
boasts national parks, towering forests, limestone caves, historic lighthouses, and some of Australia’s best
surfing beaches.

Other attractions include wineries and microbreweries in the Margaret River wine region to the south. Busselton’s iconic jetty—over 1.8 km long, the Southern Hemisphere’s longest wooden jetty—features an Underwater Observatory descending 8 meters to the ocean floor via a spiral staircase, revealing tropical and sub-tropical corals, sponges, fish, and invertebrates.

Visitors can also enjoy whale-watching cruises, scenic cycling trails, pristine beaches, and family-friendly foreshore parks. Seasonal events, art galleries, and local markets add cultural charm, making Busselton a perfect blend of nature, adventure,
and coastal lifestyle.

Busselton Jetty
Stretching 1.8 kilometers into Geographe Bay, Busselton Jetty is the longest timber-piled jetty in the Southern Hemisphere. It offers a scenic train ride, a relaxing walk over turquoise waters, and the famous Underwater Observatory, where visitors descend eight meters below the ocean to view vibrant corals, sponges, and marine life in their natural habitat.

Excursion – Taste of Margaret River
Get a chance to visit the famous Margaret River region and taste the local wines, beers, ciders and chocolates on this half-day
excursion.
Cheeky Monkey Brewery
We departed the pier for Cheeky Monkey Brewery, where refreshing beverages are produced under the watchful eyes of their master brewers. The brewery was founded in 2012 by the Burton Family and is currently independently owned by a small group of friends. We got a chance to taste a selection of their beers and ciders.

Margaret River Chocolate Company
Next, we continued to the Margaret River Chocolate Company for a fascinating insight into the world of chocolate. The original
factory in the Margaret River region was opened in 1999. We tasted some of their locally made chocolates and had the chance to see the art of chocolate making for ourselves through a viewing window. We enjoyed their home made ice cream.

Aravina Estate & Wine Tasting
After indulging your sweet tooth at the Margaret River Chocolate Company, we make our way to Aravina Estate to learn about this wonderful local winery and the great selection of wines they offer. We discovered the secrets of Aravina Estate, which was awarded as one of the ten Best New Wineries in 2014 by wine critic James Halliday.

It is a 180-acre wine-growing property situated in the south-west viticulture region of Western Australia. The driving ambition at Aravina Estate is to build an enjoyable wine destination for all who visit, one that showcases the best natural attributes of Western Australia’s South West region.

Nestled amongst the picturesque setting of expansive vineyards across the rolling hills, natural bushland, and manicured
gardens, Aravina Estate is one of Margaret River’s finest wine producers in the region. We enjoyed a tasting of their wine varieties.
