Where in the World Are We?
We are in Boston, Mass, USA.

BOSTON, MASSACHUSETTS
A vibrant place with a lively cultural and culinary scene.
Historic yet revolutionary, few places embody the American dream quite as well as Boston, and you’ll feel the strong independent streak and pride in the founding ideals of freedom and independence wherever you go. Skyscrapers mingle harmoniously with cobbled streets, and every footstep here promises new tales of legend, daring, and valour, as you walk through the pages of history and immerse yourself in the stories of one of the USA’s oldest cities.
The flashing colours of Fall – a period when the foliage around Boston explodes with blazes of red, orange, and purple – attract visitors from across the world, more than compensating for the northerly city’s harsh winters. Green open spaces like Boston Public Garden also decorate the town, offering breathing space and the chance to enjoy blossom-perfumed sanctuary, as you sit among scampering squirrels and quiet boating lakes.
Sometimes, Boston feels like an open-air history museum, and the Freedom Trail links the city’s many valuable historic sites. It’s no exaggeration to say that the world’s history pivoted significantly on this humble two-and-a-half-mile trail. Wander across incendiary sites like the Boston Massacre Site, and Bunker Hill – where the first shots of the American Revolutionary War were fired, eventually leading to independence from British rule.
Fenway Park is the cathedral-like home of Boston’s famous Red Sox, and a must-visit for any sports fan. You’ll also find plenty of acclaimed New England seafood to sample, including famous buttery clam chowder. Restaurants in the thriving Seaport District serve freshly harvested crab and lobster, accompanied by spectacular views of the crashing Atlantic waves.
BOSTON COMMON
The oldest public park in the U.S. and undoubtedly the largest and most famous of the town commons around which New England settlements were traditionally arranged. From 1634, the Common started as 50 acres where freemen could graze their cattle.

Today’s Excursion – Walking the Freedom Trail
Travel back to Revolutionary Boston with a walk along the Freedom Trail.
Freedom Trail Walking Tour
Depart the pier for the brief transfer to the Boston Common. Located on the edge of Beacon Hill, it is the oldest public park in
America. Upon arrival at the gold-domed New State House, leave your coach and begin your approximate two-mile (about 3.2-
kilometre) guided walking tour. As you stroll along Boston Common, view one of the most beautiful war memorials in the
country, a bronze tribute to Robert Gould Shaw’s 54th regiment.

Granary Burial Ground & Faneuil Hall
Next, continue on to the Granary Burial Ground, site of the graves of John Hancock, Samuel Adams, and Paul Revere, then take
the Freedom Trail past the Old Corner Bookstore, the Old South Meeting House and the Old State House to Faneuil Hall, the
meeting hall of such famous speakers as John Hancock, Susan B. Anthony, and John F. Kennedy. Today, it is a bustling
complex of shops and restaurants.

Old North Church
Leaving Faneuil Hall, cross into the North End by Paul Revere’s House, en route to the Old North Church, also known as ‘Christ
Church’. During your guided visit, learn about the fascinating church’s history.
